A winner.

Johanna's painting "Group Hug" was awarded "Artwork Best Representing Theme" in the Historic Beverly art exhibit "Strength, Perseverance and Hope" which emphasized our pandemic experience.

The art was judged by art specialists, but also by some people from the local community– which made it even more special to me.

Her other painting "Last Hug," also in the exhibit, depicted the show's theme as well– almost more so, as it features a good friend who truly experienced strength, perseverance and hope.

City of Beverly MA Banner

 Johanna Bohoy's painting was chosen to hang as a banner throughout the town of Beverly, MA. Spring/summer 2019.

For the novel "Ghost Ship" by Lori Townsend, Johanna did a pastel painting of a ship enveloped by ghostly mists and clouds, in an ink-dark night, on an eery roiling sea. The thriller depicts reporter Zilla Gillette who investigates the human trafficking of young girls and boys who have been abducted and carried by a vessel at sea to a hidden location.
