bottles up the gift of the maple trees-- pure, rich dark amber maple syrup prized by chefs & connoisseurs for the aroma, flavor, and texture.

Bohoy Design designed the label employing an elegant and simple stream of syrup touched with a glow of metallic "maple."

Chef Yves B. is the soufflé expert.

He's been whipping them up in copper bowls since he was 14 on l'ile de Re on the coast of France. Now a world class chef, he decided to share his expertise and package up his wonderful no fail soufflés for the masses.

Bohoy Design created his "mischievous" logo and designed the packages for 5 flavors- from sweet to savory. His soufflés rise and Bohoy Design rose to the occasion.

Pastry in a package

Mom makes the best apple pie and chocolate chip cookies, but when it comes to pastry- Cassis Bakery's, made by Chef Dimitri, are the best. Miniature works of art.

They came to Bohoy Design in need of a package to sell their melt-in-the-mouth Macaroons and ethnic Russian Potatoes. The final design- an economical clamshell box with a diecut sleeve, color-coded to the product and logo. Mmmm.

Just as each snowflake is unique-- so is each of our clients. We work from large corporations to small startups; complex projects to simple requests.

My Grandma's of New England needed a snowflake to put on their holiday coffee cake tins but couldn't find one that would work, so Bohoy Design created one.

On the move...

The company Women on the Move "takes the trauma out of moving" by customizing a move, from packing and unpacking to selecting on a reliable moving company to hire.
Bohoy Design designed their logo/ID that was then placed on the most important tool of their business-- moving boxes.
That helped put them on the move.

Bohoy Design designed the logo and look of client AVSI's frozen mousse & pies made from tropical mango, guava & pomegranate. They needed to be branded
and packaged to get into the marketplace. It did the job.
These colorful, windowed boxes reflect what's inside- pure tropical indulgence.

The Beverly Farms Library was marrying their 1910 building with a new addition. To celebrate the accomplishment, the fundraising committee held a mock wedding celebration and reception for the community. Bohoy Design produced the invitations, promotional material, and this logo that utilized intertwined rings to symbolize the marriage of the old & the new.

Oncology Rehab Partners is an innovative healthcare company
breaking new ground in the field of cancer care.
BOHOY DESIGN developed a logo, and web banner identity for
their STAR (Survivorship Training and Rehab) products, developed
by Julie Silver, M.D., that provide facilities and clinicians with
tools and programs to deliver oncology rehabilitation care.

A Virginia company ITK [In the Know] had a desire to bring raw, healthy organic food to the energy bar market. BOHOY DESIGN designed the packaging and the 'to-the-point' label that advertised what they are about- the raw ingredients. A simple cost-saving red kraft box was utilized for the Point of Purchase to hold the earthy bars.

Color or Black & White?

Sometimes no color is best.
To introduce a new "anti stink" product for Agion Active, BOHOY DESIGN recently developed a striking black & white ad campaign that utilized the ultimate stinker- a skunk- to get the message across. Black & white was used not only to best represent the image, but also to stand out from all of the color in the magazines.

Johanna's painting "Farmstand" was used on the cover of the just published book by Merry Stetson Hall- BRINGING FOOD HOME: THE MAINE EXAMPLE.

Bohoy Design's client fell in love with the cassava treats that they ate while on a trip to the Caribbean and brought them home to produce in the US. They needed an identity and package to reflect where they came from so Bohoy Design created a logo and box that conjures up the tropical experience of balmy nights and sunny days, turquoise waters, rain forest flowers... and Joy!

Bohoy Design designed and illustrated this set of children's dishes for the Essex Collection which featured whimsical creatures of the sky- 'Puff' a cloud, the shining stars, flying birds, and the happy sun.

for their annual dinner to be held this March.
A silver envelope holds the ribbon tied pieces that
utilize the letters in their moniker on each piece:
M for members, s for schedule, f or form, and a for address.

'Cran' Brand

New England Cranberry Co. wanted an updated image- away from 'ye old country store look' to a contemporary, clean, simple brand presentation that visually stated that "Cranberries aren't just for Thanksgiving."
Bohoy Design created a fresh new look starting with the logo and sage green labels, followed by the brand extension to other products: chocolates, syrup, gift box, etc.

Setting Sail

American Marine Model Gallery was moving.
To announce the move BOHOY DESIGN illustrated a map, then took the America's ship from their logo and had it animated to literally sail from Salem to Gloucester, MA. The map was then used on their website, as an email announcement, and a postcard.

Southern New Hampshire University needed an alumni institute advancement campaign. Their branding was in place, so BOHOY DESIGN designed a series of colorful pieces that extended it, as well as their message.
A Parent Calendar that highlighted school schedules, events, and tips completed the package.

Labor Day- Restoration

The International Yacht Restoration School in Newport, RI does just that. They bring beautiful boats back to their original glory. William H. Combs, a prominent collector of miniature museum quality ship models by renowned marine artists Donald McNarry and Lloyd McCaffrey, donated his collection to be exhibited at their renovated mill building.

BOHOY DESIGN was called on deck to design and produce the 64 page book/catalog written by R. Michael Wall of the American Marine Model Gallery, that showcases the extraordinary collection.
The result is shown above.

Good Bugs- Bad Bugs

There are Good Bugs and there are Bad Bugs- microbes, fungus, mold...etc. But, some companies are fighting them.
BOHOY DESIGN's client Agion wanted to send a 3 part direct mail campaign to potential industrial partner companies explaining their "anti-bug" natural silver antimicrobial technology.

OUR DESIGN SOLUTION:
1. A tiny toy wall climber bug was sent with an explanation of their technology.
2. Products [razor and hair iron] were sent as examples of successful partnering with a partner company- Remington.
3. A 'lunch box' was sent inviting the potential clients to a lunch and learn meeting in various parts of the US.

'green' promotional pieces for Triumvirate Environmental, a waste
management company, to send to their clients on Earth Day:

We packaged birdseed in mini hazardous waste drums- Replace waste.

We put chocolate "worlds" in tiny straw nests- The earth is our nest.

We sent peacock feathers to announce their new website- They were proud as peacocks.

This 16 page President's Report for the Essex National Heritage Commission was designed and produced by Bohoy Design. A photographic repeat of their triangular logo on the cover helps create an extension of their ID.

Bites

A new product.
A new brand.
Cape Cod Bay Company wanted a clean New England look that visually represented their name for their new brand ID/packaging.
Bohoy Design gave them a nautical banner with blue sea and sky, seagulls, and the obiquitous Cape Cod lighthouse as a backdrop for their calamari bites.

For the 4th year in a row the Boston Public Market has used Johanna Bohoy's illustration of chefs for their successful fundraiser "Chef's Harvest Dinner." The whimsical image has become the identity for this annual event that features unique harvest dinners at Boston's finest restaurants by first class chefs. Bohoy Design produced the original promotion pieces for the event.

Eye opener

This logo was developed by Bohoy Design for a new coffee café on the Gulf coast of Florida. Since they are located on the waterfront, the coffee cup holds a combination image of the morning star, sunrise, and sunset that greets them each day.
